We are all fair game –
- Children in strollers
- Police Officers sitting in their cars
- Elderly people walking down the block
- Women asleep in their homes
- Add yourself and circumstance to the list.
We are the worst of us as much as we are the best of us.
We create our own cells keeping us separate from one another.
We seek out our distinguishing characteristics.
What happens if you see me when you look in the mirror?
Does my reflection excite or upset you?
I cannot see you when I see myself.
My image, my mind, too strong, too steady.
I don’t want you to have to see me to respect my life.
I want my living to be enough.
Without respect for life itself no one is spared.
